Welcome to the Northern Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NVAND)
NVAND is one of the five state affiliates of the Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (VAND). Our membership includes Registered Dietitians, Registered Dietetic Technicians, students, and retirees of the profession in the Northern Virginia Area.
NVAND members are leading advocates of the dietetic profession in Virginia, serving the public through promotion of optimal nutrition, health, and well-being. Many NVAND members are involved in the community and actively promote nutrition and wellness in hospitals, schools, corporations, grocery stores and/or work in private practice. Many members also serve on advisory boards and task forces like VAND Advocacy Public Policy team and the Childhood Obesity Task Force.
If you are new to our site we encourage you to exlpore our website and take advantage of our nutrition resources links. We are here to serve the public and provide sound nutrition advice.

A NOTE FROM NVAND’s PRESIDENT:
Greetings, and welcome to NVAND! As President for the 2014-15 year, I look forward to leading this organization in supporting our mission statement by promoting optimal nutrition and well-being for all people by advocating for our members. The past few years has brought tremendous change not only for nutrition and health promotion in general, but for our governing associations as well – most notably the name changes. We will continue to move forward in the 21st century by keeping up with the most timely,evidence-based nutrition information and to effectively communicate with and advocate for our members in the northern Virginia district.
Please take a few moments to explore this website and if you do not find what you came for, feel free to contact myself or any board member.
